Under the guidance of the Pickleball Global Academy, the Guangzhou Sports Polytechnic earned new fame and achievement at the Guangdong Provincial University Games with top finishes across all events.

Having only put together a team this year and only started formal training under the Academy over the course of 3 weeks, the team performed remarkably and outperformed many other schools with the following results:

  1. Mixed Doubles - 3rd

  2. Men's Singles - 5th

  3. Women's Doubles - 5th

  4. Men's Doubles - both pairs reaching the top 16

Under the guidance of Head Coach, Darren Ho, former PPA gold medallist, it was visible to most spectators that the brand of Pickleball played by the sports school was vastly different from the rest.

"I always believe that Pickleball is about control more than exerting yourself and hitting each ball explosively. While there is a place for hard hitting, understanding the fundamentals of the game and exploiting weaknesses is almost like playing chess on the court. I am very happy with the team and their results and this will only get better as they further commit themselves to the sport." - Darren Ho, Head Coach, Pickleball Global Academy

In the same tournament, FPF International Pickleball Club also earned accolades with sponsored players doing well and breaking through barriers in this tournament

  1. Qira - Women's Doubles 4th

  2. Jerry - Men's Singles 6th

  3. Colin - Men's Doubles top 16

Congratulations to all the winners and their amazing performances.

"It is truly heartwarming to see players finally finding their feet with FPF and now achieving results that they could only have dreamed of a few months ago. We have players who truly started playing Pickleball only 2-3 months ago and now standing on podiums. This to me, is a dream come true." - Hannah Tan, PCP coach and FPF Community Manager
