Singapore, 21 November 2025 — The People’s Association (PA), in partnership with Metazone and PCP, has officially launched PickleConnect, a free pickleball initiative designed to open the sport to Singaporeans of all ages and abilities. The programme runs weekly at PAssion Wave @ Bedok Reservoir and imPAct @ Hong Lim Green, offering structured lessons, open play, and a welcoming environment for beginners and experienced players alike.
PickleConnect is fully inclusive, community-driven, and aimed at bridging the growing gap between Singapore’s rapidly increasing interest in pickleball and the limited availability of court spaces.

A Starter Path for New Players
The programme features beginner-friendly coaching delivered by PCP-certified coaches. Participants learn essential skills such as dinking, kitchen control, rally structure, and basic game rules. Training is conducted on both full courts and designated “kitchen-only” micro-courts, designed to gradually build confidence before transitioning to full-court play. Each weekly session concludes with casual “dink battles”, allowing participants to enjoy friendly competition in a low-pressure, social environment.

Developing Future Coaches Within the Community
In line with PCP’s mission to grow and professionalise pickleball in Singapore, participants who show interest in coaching can pursue free PCP Level 1 Certification, giving them a pathway to contribute back to their communities as trained instructors.
Hannah Tan, Head of Coaching and Curriculum at PCP, emphasised the significance of the initiative:
“PickleConnect is about removing barriers. Anyone—regardless of age, fitness level, or experience—should have the chance to learn pickleball in a safe, structured, and encouraging environment. Beyond learning the sport, we want to empower community members with the opportunity to become certified coaches and help grow the game from within.”

Strengthening Community Bonds Through Sport
With demand for pickleball courts far outpacing supply across Singapore, PickleConnect gives residents a structured gateway to experience the sport without cost. The initiative is grounded in the shared mission of PA, Metazone, and PCP to promote active living, mental well-being, and stronger community ties.
A parent who attended the programme remarked:
“With limited courts and a huge demand for pickleball space, PickleConnect is possibly the best life hack for getting a chance to try the sport.”

A Collaborative Vision for Singapore’s Communities
PickleConnect reflects a shared commitment to making pickleball a cornerstone of community engagement—one that promotes physical activity, mental well-being, and social bonding in an accessible and enjoyable format.
